General dentistry includes the following services:
Tooth repair compensates for the lost part of the tooth, whether it is the cause of caries or something else that led to its damage.
Dental treatment involves the use of various dental medications. The tooth is brought to a condition in which the repair can be performed in a safe way or an adequate filling can be placed. Dental treatment involves the administration of a drug in order to treat deep caries, but if the caries penetrates the pulp chamber and inflammation of the nerve occurs, dental treatment involves endodontics.
The most common cause of damage to teeth requires conservative repair, and often dental treatment. It occurs as a consequence of the end product of sugar metabolism by bacteria – acids. Acids produced by bacteria lead to tooth damage and tooth caries.
Root canal treatment (nerve extraction) is an endodontic therapy that is considered one of the most unpopular dental procedures. The name itself reminds of pain. However, it is not a painful procedure because nowadays it is done under local anesthesia and most of our patients describes the experience as similar as when getting a dental filling.
What is endodontic therapy?
Endodontic therapy refers to the treatment of the tooth part that contains the tooth pulp or nerve. Even though teeth are mostly made from hard structures, every tooth contains a hollow space which stores soft tissue (tooth pulp) .
Calculus removal is actually a procedure of removing hard and soft deposits from their surface. The main goals of tartar removal are preventive (prevents the occurrence of periodontitis) or therapeutic (stops or slows down its further progression).
Tartar removal should be performed every 4-6 months, and in some cases more often.
Tartar is the main auxiliary factor in the development of periodontitis. Its sharp edges damage the gums and result in bleeding when brushing your teeth. Its microscopic structure in the form of holes is an ideal place to hide bacteria and micro-food residues from brush fibers, which makes adequate oral hygiene difficult.
Calculus can be found under the gums and it cannot be seen with the naked eye, but only a dentist can see it with an examination. This stone, which we call subgingival (under the gingiva), is the most dangerous and leads to periodontitis.
By whitening our teeth, we can restore their natural tone or whiten them even more.
There are various factors that cause teeth to lose their brightness, as well as many ways to restore their shade or make them even whiter than natural teeth.
